My Background
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor, who holds a Master’s of Science in Counseling Psychology from the University of Kansas. I started my counseling career in 2016, working at a non-profit organization, working with women and teens who experienced sex trafficking, complex trauma, and poverty. Since 2019, I have worked in the private practice setting specializing in complex trauma, anxiety, depression, grief and perinatal mood disorders.
I am certified and a Consultant in Training in EMDR Therapy (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), which is an evidence-based treatment that allows people to heal from emotional distress related to any negative life experiences.
I received extensive training in Dialectical Behavior Therapy, which is an effective therapy for adults and teens with a history of trauma and/or who struggle with managing their emotions, difficulty finding joy, and struggle in interpersonal relationships.
Additionally, I work with couples and have completed Level 2 of Gottman Method Couples Therapy, a research-based approach to help couples increase intimacy, respect, and understanding.
Clients can expect me to take a compassionate, non-judgmental, client-centered approach, tailoring treatment to fit each person's individual goals.
In my spare time, you can find me planning my next travel, eating delicious food, reading, being out in nature. exercising, and spending time with family and friends.
Who I Help
People who want to heal from life's painful experiences. People who are traumatized, overwhelmed and wanting a different, more peaceful life.
How I Do It
I tailor treatment to each unique individual. In the initial intake, I spend time getting to know your story and learn about your life dreams. In the second session, we develop a "road map," to reach your life dreams.
What's in It for You
Healing. Growth. Peace. Purpose.
